Customer Reviews

Absolutely fantastic day riding from Stellenbosch to Franschoek with Sevo. He was an excellent, knowledgeable guide. A walking encyclopaedia!! Thanks so much for having us. - Emma Davis

Hi just arrived back from south africa, so there has been a delay on my review. The E-Bike tour was for me a great experience, But to do it, I would say you do need a good amount of cycling experience and stamina as it is 50 kilometers of quite rugged terrain in parts. The bikes are the top quaility Giant cycles great machines. The wife signed up for it but after trying 2 test tracks on the way out of Stellenbosch decide it would be too much so she followed in the back up vehicle, which she enjoyed stopping off at the same cycle stops, where we all meet up. The guy who took me on the ride Seve was very good and could gauge my ability perfectly and organised the ride around that. All in all a very enjoyable day, both the guys looked after us very well supplying the food and drinks e.t.c. The back up vehicle followed us with hazards on if we had to travel on small stretches on tarmac roads keeping traffic away from us. Very well organised and executed So I would say if you fancy it and are OK on a bicycle go for it. Regards Barry P ( BAZ ) for short - Barry Peacock

Our family of four, mid-aged adults and just full-age "kids", enjoyed this Intermediate eBike tour Stellenbosch - Franschoek very much. The time spent on the route, all the things we were able to see was really worth it. Our great guide ("Sebu") was absolutely perfect. First of all you rarely meet a person in that stunning shape! Born athlete! Real sporty cyclist! Then at the same time he was perfect with the pace for the group, enough breaks, advise and all. Couldn't be any better. And not to forget - he had a great sense of humour and kept up the spirit all the time. Thinking of the level of the challenge we highly recommend this. You need to be in decent shape but not top-athlete. We do sports regularly, but we're not "top cyclists". You just need to be in good sporty shape but evenmore be prepared to have the spirit, keep it up, and use power wisely. We all could have spent so much more electricity to help our journey but we made with brutal force! You naturally need to know how to drive a bike rather well and some mountain bike experience is all for your benefit on some of the rocky and sandy paths. We all had some of this already but eBikes were a new great experience. We finished our tour to a small winery but unfortunately, just10 mins before us, it became almost full. Took a long time to get through wine tasting and food but who's in a hurry. Nobody. Our guide and backup-driver really made a great thing for keep things rolling also in the restaurant. Highly recommend to all groups, couples, or individuals. Nice sporty holiday day. Rating: 5/5. - Repe

We booked this excursion after having a great tour with Adventure Shop the previous week. Our guide was Sevo (again) so we knew we were in safe hands. We are a middle-aged couple, and are comfortable on bikes but have never cycled along tracks or across water. Sevo took us through the safety aspect and then we headed off. Once again, he was informative and tested our knowledge and capabilities as we progressed. The off-roading at the start was particularly challenging as it was uphill and rough but the scenery was fabulous. Once out of Stellenbosch, we reached the Banhoek Valley, which is gorgeous. We saw klipspringers (?) and fynbos throughout the nature reserve as we cycled toward Boschendal, which was the halfway point. Ronnie followed us in the back-up vehicle, just in case there were any issues. After a comfort break and some refreshments, we resumed the ride. Some road cycling, then back onto tracks and sand. It was exhilarating and we had the Best Day. The e-bikes were excellent and we didn't have any mishaps. Temperature reached 37 degrees Celsius by early afternoon, but we had plenty of water. Ended with a delicious lunch and wine-tasting at La Bourgogne Farm at the far end of Franschhoek. For us, it was a challenging ride, but this was the best cycle trip we have ever done. Thanks Sevo and The Adventure Shop! - Tracey Atmore
